Results for the week and upcoming fixtures
Our Junior A footballers commenced their championship campaign on last Thursday night with a visit to our near neighbours, Monaleen. Monaleen playing with a strong breeze in the opening half started strongly and took an early two point lead before Milford settled into the game. Some good attacking play from Milford was rewarded with a well taken free by Luke McGinty after ten minutes to leave the home side two points to one ahead. Milford battled strongly for the remainder of the half but some excellent fielding from Monaleen provided them a platform to increase their lead to four points at the interval. A fiercely competitive second half threatened to boil over at times. Despite several good opportunities, Milford were unable to take their scores and some well taken points by the home side saw them run out eleven points to two winners.
