Hard luck to the U21s
Following on from winning the East u-21 football championship, Mulcair Gaels, (Milford/Ahane), met Killulta Gaels, (Kildimo/Pallaskenry) in the county quarter final on Thursday evening in LIT. Mulcair Gaels were slow to settle and allowed Killulta to take an early lead. However Mulcair Gaels slowly got into the match and began to dominate around the middle. Six points including an excellent Ger Collins point saw them take the lead for the first time. But Killulta finished the half strongly and scored a very well worked goal in the dying seconds to lead 1-5 to 6 points at the break. Killulta made a great start to the second half and scored three goals in quick succession. Despite a great effort from Mulcair Gaels, Killulta held their lead and won out on a scoreline of 4-8 to 9 points.
Milford GAA would like to congratulate the Mulcair Gaels panel for their efforts ovee the year and in particular the Milford representatives: Alan Hayes, Ian Crilly, John Cullinan, Paul Dillon, Ger Collins, Mike Dunphy, Luke and Nathan McGinty. We wish Killulta Gaels the very best of luck for the remainder of their county championship campaign.
