JB Hurlers bow out of City Championship
Milford travelled to Mungret on Sunday morning needed a win to keep their chances of reaching the semi-finals alive, but ran into a team determined to take the place instead of them.
The opening exchanges were even with a couple of scores coming for each side, but Mungret began to take control, and as the rain began to fall before half time, opened a comfortable lead.
The youthful Mungret side continued in the same vein in the second half, adding another couple of goals to their tally, as well as some well taken points to put the tie out of reach of Milford. A late goal from Nathan McGinty was a mere consolation for the visitors, leaving a final score of 4-24 to 1-6. Luke McGinty scores couple of frees, while Ian Crilly, John Cullinane, Eamonn Hawe, Neil Clancy and Joe Redington all played well.
The JB Footballers are out against Patrickswell on Tuesday night in a rearranged fixture. All support is welcome. Football training continues on Thursday in Roselawn at 7pm, all to attend.
Coming Fixtures: JBFC vs Pallaskenry is Pallas 28th Aug, JAFC vs Ballybrown in Roselawn 4th Sep.
