Milford Footballers continue winning ways

Last week saw our junior footballers in action in both the all county and city junior football leagues. On Tuesday night we travelled to Meanus to play Camogue Rovers in a must win all county league game. Despite conceding an early goal from a penalty, a strong first half performance saw our lads lead at the break. Camogue rallied after the re-start and two goals put them into a commanding lead. However the Milford boys never gave up and slowly closed the gap. Milford finished the game strongly scoring 1-3 without reply in the last five minutes to run out deserving 1-14 to 3-5 winners.

On Thursday night the lads travelled to Crecora for the second round of the city junior football league. Despite a sometimes error strewn performance Milford ran out 2-10 to 1-8 winners against a spirited Crecora side.

Next up for the junior footballers is a trip to Pallaskenry on Tuesday the 20th of May followed by a home match to Claughaun on the 22nd of May in the same competition.

Hurling training continues on Saturdays at 11 o’clock in Roselawn.
