Milford lose out to Monaleen in City League Final

Last Thursday evening saw our junior footballers meet near neighbours Monaleen in the final of the city junior a football league. A scrappy opening saw the team exchange points but a strong Monaleen side eventually started to get on top and some well taken scores saw them lead by six points at half time. Milford’s performance improved significantly after the break however we were unable to close the gap and Monaleen ran out 12 points to four winners. Milford would like to wish the best of luck to Monaleen in their county league campaign.

Milford: Kevin Keenan, Michael Doyle, Alan Hayes, Ronan O’Sullivan, Mark Conway, John Cullinan, Neil Clancy, Luke McGinty (0-3), Stephen Kelly, Ralph Parkes, Cathal Geraghty, Eamonn Hawe, Jack Dolan, Paul Dillon (0-1) and Nathan McGinty. Sub: Colm Cuneen for Ralph Parkes.

Junior hurling training is on Monday at 7 o’clock and junior football training will take place on Tuesday at 7 o’clock in Roselawn. On Thursday our footballers are due to play Na Piarsaigh in the replay of the semi-final of the city intermediate championship.
