First points for Hurlers in the ACHL
Last Tuesday our junior hurlers began their all-county hurling league campaign with a hard fought 0-12 to 1-9 draw against St Marys of Rathkeale. Despite a nervous opening Milford rallied with good scores before the break to leave the half time score 0-6 to 1-3. Both sides traded points at the beginning of the second half before St Marys began to pull clear. However Milford dug deep and three unanswered points in the last five minutes was good enough to earn a share of the spoils. This was the first ever point earned by Milford in the all-county hurling league in what is only the club’s second season in the league. Congratulations to all involved especially the management team of Neil Clancy and Gerry Collins and hopefully the club can build on this result in the coming weeks.
Our junior footballers are due to play away to Ballybricken in the county football league on Tuesday the 29th of April and the hurlers next match is at home to Camogue Rovers on the 6th of May.
Hurling training continues on Thursday nights in Roselawn at 7 o’clock and football on Saturday mornings at 11.
