Footballers get their season underway

Our junior footballers played their first match of the year on Saturday against Camogue Rovers. Milford played against a strong breeze in the opening half and found scores very hard to come by. However, a good defensive display saw Milford lead two points to one at half time. Milford took control in the second half scoring some very fine scores and in the end won by 1-10 to 0-1.

Upcoming fixtures: All-County Football League – Milford v Blackrock Tuesday 30th of March 7.00 pm.

Best of luck to Ger Collins and the Limerick footballers who travel to Clare next weekend in a must win match in round eight of the national football league.

Once again our club website continues to be one of the leading GAA websites in Ireland. The draw for the 2010 city championships took place last week. Milford will play in the city intermediate football championship against Mungret and Na Piarsigh and have been drawn to meet our neighbours Monaleen in the city junior a football championship. Milford will meet Monaleen, Mungret, Na Piarsigh and St Patricks in the city junior a football league. Our junior b footballers will face Ballinacurra Gaels, Crecora, Na Piarsigh and St Patricks in the city championship. We wish all of our teams the very best of luck in 2010.
